I need to settle an arguement with a mate. Can anyone tell me if Ford ever built a FWD Sierra? (I know I should have better things to think about but I've never lost an arguement with him yet!)

FYI I don't believe they did

cheers and Q lots of ridicule.....

They built a 4x4 Sierra, if that is what you mean.

They did not build a front wheel only version.

i thought the sierra saphire cosworth 2wd was front wheel drive ? i do know that the sierra was the first car to have a bonded front screen which formed part of the integral structure of the car ((ohhh dear how sad am i !!!))))

You are joking Richie right? Regarding a Sapphire Cossie being front wheel drive?

I agree, never seen or heard or a FWD Sierra.

They did make a 4x4 Moneeo way back, and they are pretty unusual. They also did the Mk5 RS2000 Escort in 4WD, and you won't see many of them.

Useless info...the original prototype cossie was based on xr4 shell. Ford Boreham Rally test track only 10 miles away *wink* closed now I think.
Bring back the MkI Escort RS1600....proper rear wheel drive.....that handled!

I had about four Sierras when I was doing a bit of repping in the 80s.

I thought they were the nuts. Compared to the competition they were good motors. Good for cruising the M1 & M6.
