In the garage......again!!

Do these pumps make a lot of noise when switched on, or are they like the standard leccy pumps where they settle down to the occassional clunk?, mine really buzzes like its struggling to pick up fuel. Recently moved it down to the boot floor to help the pick up but its still noisy.

Ps, plenty of fuel in the tank as well.

Well thats good to know, glad its not foo**d. has good pressure when the engine runs at 4psi, just has a tendancy to flood the carb out, looks like another trawl around the search function :)

looking around the search section, thats what it sounds like. May try running the engine with the pump off, then switching on, see if it washes through.

just out of curiosity, with the dashpot removed, how much fuel should be coming out of the jet with the pump running? and also, is 5psi too much pressure with just the pump running?

3 point 5.

A shade more is ok, but i don't think it should be as high as 5. Oh and my pump is really noisy too, i was worried it was shagged, glad to know everyone's is the same.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

no fuel should be coming through the jet with the dash pot off.

if it is either the pressure is too high, or the float needle is goosed.
