hey guys, i searched to see if this topic had been posted but i cant find it so here goes.
I've got myself a 1380 (non turbo) and i have an electronic dist and some gold sports coil? anyways, problem being is when im nailing it and shifting at 7500 rpm, well the rev counter desides to dance and cant make up its mind where it wants to sit, yea it basically starts bouncing around. now i dunno what can cause this, apparently the dist is mapped to the cam which is a 286 cam so could it be down to a crappy coil? or would it be something else? rather annoying as when i shift through the gears, i havent a clue what my rev's are except for listening to them. can any1 help?

my 1430cc is the exact same... what I did is fit a new seperate tacho with shift light and thats spot on?*smiley*
the original still goes dodgey after 5000rpm but the new one stays perfect!

Hi,
A gold sports coil is the wrong one for an electronic dizzy. You need a coil for an electronic dizzy or you'll kill the module.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
No experience with those coils, best to give them a ring to see what suits.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
