In short not really.

I am assuming that you are planning on buying a second hand one from Ebay or similar.

Basically make sure you get it still in the roof panel for two reasons;

1) the slide channels are easy to distort without even realising it.

2) you will be sure you have everything you need and can use the original roof as a template for cutting yours.

I have a roof with a Webasto sitting waiting to go into Candice's car when I restart work on it. I'll ask her to take a picture of it and post it up.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

There was an article about fitting one several years ago, I'll try and dig it out.

No pics as yet ........ but I have pulled the headlinging back to check I've not gone mad.

Basically the structure of the sliding frame adds the strength. It's bonded and bolted every couple of inches to the roof panel.

Hi,
I wouldn't fit one, full stop. I don't know how old the one on my car is, but it's leaked in since day one. It's all been out and resealed, new bolts etc.
Last week the whole outer fabric came off down the M5 in the outside lane! *surprised*
I didn't dare to look behind to see went...
Cheers,
Gavin :)

The one on Candice's MPi is spot on too. Even though some scrot had put a single stab through it at some point it has never leaked, not once!

Better than my Golf Cabrio for sure leaks wise!!!!

Far better than a cabro conversion and now this country is so hot (anything about about 14 degrees is too hot for me!!!) then it's an essential on any car that isn't air conditioned or purely for track use IMHO ..... seriously!
