New intercooler causing backfiring???

I dont think so... But I just plumbed in the intercooler and on the first test run it started backfiring and occasionally missing. This happens only in mid/high revs and esp on the overrun. One thing that is perobably important is that the rev counter drops momentarily to zero at the same time as it backfires...

Initially I thought that I had disturbed a Megajolt plug but all seems well, latest thought is the VR sensor.. could the new plumbing have changed the engine vibration and the sensor is affected?? I'm going to adjust it but any other ideas out there??

It was a bad VR sensor plug.

After I had adjusted it the engine would not start at all, then I saw that one wire was funky so I gave the wires a light tug... Both came away.

I'll have to find another plug to get on the road.

2 true my oil presure lead fell off and I had simply looked at it in the wrong way....

BTW - I took my buddy VTEC Pete out for a spin this weekend, and even though I am running her in, he gave it a name, the "Brocket"...cause I'm a brocket maaannn, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah....
