Is this Rubber seal on the gearbox the right way round ?
http://www.turbominis.co.uk/_photos/random...os/683/4052.jpg
And is it meant to sit abit proud on top and on the side ?
Plus do u stick it down with something, or place some gasket past round it..
Cheers...

Hi,
IIRC you need to fit that to the engine...

Indeed, you press it into the block not the box, and it wants to be the other way round!

yep,

you want the engine block upside down, then lift the gearbox on, its easier that way!

aparently wellseal is the nuts, but i have also had good results from loctite 574, the orange stuff.

That may do for the seal part but it depends on qaulity. Some are crap.
Id prefer to use proper stuff.

Read the posts above. Then use the information therein to make your own decision.

To me its quite clear that a few people have recommended Wellseal, and someone else has pointed out that clear silicone isn't always of good quality when subjected to oil.

From this make your own choice.
