Are injection lumps the same as older carb'd models? Are there differences....pump, crank etc?

Injection is to general a word to use

SPi is the same as any other A+ 1275. One thing that is noticabley different from 1992 onwards was the shit oil supply pipe, they changed the unions, and its well recomended to get the MiniSpares conversion kit

MPi is a totaly different ball game altogether

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Hi,
MPI .. Multi-point injection, usually injectors mounted close to the head face.
SPi .. Single injector, usually mounted by the throttle butterfly.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Nope. Something clicked buying parts. Went into local motor factors, asked for turbo oil pump. £78!!!!! Normally they are cheap & get bits trade. Wondered when buying parts, to ask for later mini bits. I know Avonbar etc are £30-40 mark, but it pays to shop around. :)

The turbo oil pump is specific to the turbo engine though. Do a search, some of the replacement pumps available are dog shit, you want the one from Avonbar.

for oil pumps, i'd only go for an avonbar one or a titan/SC one,

the avonbar ones are proven and the titans look a good bet.

I tried a daler for a cooper S wheel bearing once, 60 quid! compared to 20 from almost any mini place.

I suppose since the demise of Rover & MG turbos being quite old, normal motor facters are bumping prices up. Mini specialist is way forward then. Cheer chaps :)

Yep..I noticed that post also. Very handy.
I'm trying to see what parts maybe cross referenced with older parts to cut costs. They are cunning people in the motor trade. This may help others too on a tight budget.
