I get an overwhelming feeling of annoyance from reading stuff like this:

A thief who stole 250m (820ft) of industrial electrical cable is being sought by police in Northamptonshire.

I get an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction from reading stuff like this:


A charred hacksaw and foliage were found at the scene.

Police believe the person who cut the cable, carrying 11,000 volts, would have been seriously burned and are urging them to seek medical care.

I didn't think this still happend..lol

Ive heard that our "travelling friends" used to do this years ago!

tbh it happens a LOT. We get loads of stuff stolen from gas sites, at least 1'ce a week in the uk as a whole. I dont think people appriciate how much that puts on your gas bill as the last site to be done over, happens to be in my patch, will cost over million to rewire :o

apparently the electricity lads get it worse, but i have no experiance of that.

its the poxy scrap metal dealers that are the problem, they are the ones who take on blatent stolen cable delivered by a pickup with a caravan on the back!

We fabricate stainless steel pipe and we've had stuff go missing the same day its delivered. The lorries must get followed. At £1000/ton scrap value you don't need much pipe to have a nice wad of cash from the scrappie.

Coppers even worse, about 3k/ton last time I checked

yup... we contsatntly are having copper and fibre cables nicked... most of the pikeys know where the telephone exchanges are and were its stored...

Round here they nicked the electrical cable from a hospital standby generator - twice.

And last week all the brass plaques from the crematorium were pinched.

the pikeys cut through and stole the main incoming to the town i live in last year tyook 100 mtres of it

after digging it up either end
they whacked a large spike through the cable first at both ends befor cutting it
took two days for the power to come back on
i have a genny now

They will problably have that away too Benross!

I had a near miss the other year with 3phase, that was bad enough! But to have a go at 11kv thats suicidal! We always get a band of pikies coming in to our workshop, trying to buy get our scrap copper from us, when you tell them to f**k off they try to sell you a fake swiss watch! BASTARDS!

For some reason the council thought they should set up a specially built gypsie camp in our town! OK we had a few that came and went but now with specialy built facilities (with tax payer supplied chemical toilets and skip) we have 5x more than normal. Why?!?!

Im no pikey but if you want then ill see if i can put a curse on ya and let us know if your luck improves.

If it goes wrong though, dont blame me :p
