My M24 arrived this morning. Thought I'd post some shots showing how dinky it is compared to the M45.

Just use a bit of imagination.

Now which car shall I fit it in????

Still bigger than a turbo and a Rotrax, but looks a nice size. Not knowing about superchargers, is the M45 a MINI one?

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

The M45 is the Bini one.

Ok, the rotrax is smaller, but being a centrifugal device will not give the same off-idle boost like the positive displacement type.

The M24 should be good for 10psi on a 998 to give 120hp with an intercooler.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I always wondered what the rotrax would be like at low rpm, you have confirmed my suspisions that it would be like a turbo to drive. I suspect that a Rotrax is less efficient than a turbo ar creating boost too.

Looks good for a 998 charger then.

It's off the TSI, the turbo and supercharged 1.4 Golf.

Too late now, you said you did not want it.

I've told your little brother that he can have it on his car!

You can have the 1275 turbo.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Paul do you know how much they deliver per revolution? Also are they any more efficient than the 45? Looks loke a good swap for a 45 as the additional clearence would allow for a decent take off to be made and run through an intercooler whilst still retraining the vmax style setup..hmmmmmmmm intresting where did you get it from?

The clue is in the designation :)

M45 - 45 cubic inches per rev.

M24 - 24 cubic inches per rev.

It would be a bit small for a 1275, but probably OK for lowish boost.

I got it off ebay for about £200.

I might be tempted to sell it as it's one of those projects that realistically wont be done.

Ah right...makes sense *blush*

Yes i suppose it would be a bit on the small side for a 1275 then? Unless the efficiency is better and it could be spun faster!...doubt it though!

I did some calcs and 2:1 drive on a 998 gave around 9 psi. Basically it will only flow enough air to make around 100hp.

Would one of these be any use on anything bigger than a 998. I've got a 1340 with k100 twin head that I was going to charge with an M45 but this one looks really neat. It's probably no use though?

Cheers,

Ewan
