OT Sports Pack Overheating

Guys, im currently doing a bit of a service on a relatives sports pack, sorted all of the probs bar one. Obviously its front a mounted rad with a leccy fan. When stood the fan should come in as the temp creeps up. It never does. I checked if water is reaching rad (it is)(it also doesnt overheat whilst driving)

Ive put power to the fan (it works) So the fan is ok.

There is a sensor sticking out of the Thermostat housing, when i disconnect this the engine starts to rev more and more? This brings me to believe that the sensor must be doing something? My mate is lending me a volt meter tomoz so ill be able to test everything, but if anyone has any advice all would be welcome before i jump to any conclusions.

Hi,
Cooling fan is switched from that sensor vbia the ECU and a relay. Theres a fan fuse in the fuse box too.

Whilst you are playing around i'd recommend replacing the expansion tank cap.

And check the cooling fan fuse.

Here's a wiring diagram...

The relay is after the fuse, is the fuse live?
The fuse is fed permanently from one of the maxi fuses under the bonnet.

Cheers Fellas got it sorted. It turns out my "MATE" checked the Heater Fan Fuse, Not the Fan Fuse. Cuh.... What kind of idiot would do that eh!! Jees!
