What bits off a 998 fit the 1275? Im meaning the likes of oil filter bracket?, alternator/bracket, water pumps, pulley wheels etc etc. Are they all different or will some fit? A lot of the peripheral part will fit such as: Water Pump Alternator & Bracket Starter Dizzy & drive Oil filter bracket but maybe not the pipe Rocker cover The front pulleys are different, the 1275 uses a damper whereas most 998s are a plain pulley. Front covers are different, the 998 does not have a breather. Gearboxes and transfer cases are identical, but the primary drop gear is different. transfer cases, sorry for being dense is that the flywheel housing,? or is the flywheel housing the front cover? if so this is one of the few parts im missing! for 1275 but you say the drop gears different. Does this mean that 1275 gears wont fit in a 998cc flywheel housing

It is just the crank tail is thinner on the 998, so the primary gear is different. brilliant, thatll save me about £100 all in, the water pump is virtually new, all transfer gear housing is spot on as well. new alternator, well itll mean i have more cash to sort out the rotten shell! Sods law as well bout the primary gear, its the only one im missing! Edited by webba on 11th Oct, 2007. |

Got breathers on transfer case on 1275 though but you can do that to the 998 one. Back once again like a renegade master |

Hi, Yes, I'd recommend drilling the transfer housing for the breather before it goes on. Cheers, Gavin :) lol aye!, daft how BL did that to casings, the screw threads are there and everything, just the hole itself is cast shut. nothing a drill wont fix! |
