Technicaly no, but if the nut spins on freely and it torques up ok, use it at your own risk.

My personal feeling is i wouldnt use it, reason, its a high torque thread and under considerable stress. reducing thread contact weekens the joint.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Hi,
Been there done that. It usually cracks the nut when you torque it up, even after you dressed the CV threads :(

Ive had an impact gun taking one off and it just spun and chewed the thread.

Couldnt get the nut off as it was stuck in the groove. Bin me thinks *tongue*

I would bin it. I've been torquing mine up properly. Over or under tighten must lead to failure & fatigue. Its a weak link in the drive train.

Well i did't know it was like this till i looked at it.. my mate, well the guy i met little while ago who lives round the corner, who calls him self An engineer.
who has already messed few things up, must of done it. little while ago i couldn't get the nut off. so he took it and cut the nut off for me. didn't think of looking at the CV JOINT. but cant be assed to blame him... he already tryed to get the bearing out of the clutch casing, were u have to drill the 2 holes. that come out crap. so me buddie BENROSS is sorting it out for me :)
Makes a change to find someone who knows what there doing.
Anyway. this is from a 1275GT..
Has anyone got a sencond hand one for sale please :) guess ill place that in wanted.
