Right, I'm trying to get a Cobra alarm fitted to a car to actuate the central locking, it is a Cobra 3190 alarm.

After trawling the net I have found the operating instructions in Swedish (seriously) and from these have managed to decipher how to get it into "programming" mode, and have thus managed to activate the central locking outputs (hooray!)

So I have now identifed two sets of contacts, one of them makes momentarily when the alarm is disarming, so these would be ideal for the "unlock" part of it.
The other pair are made when the alarm is active, so are nearly there for the locking part of it but not ideal as it would mean 12v to the locking solenoids permanently, which I guess would burn them out after a while, as they are only meant to throw one way and then stop.

Anyone got any cunning plans, or done anything with alarms before? Fecking thing.

I trawled about a bit and someone mentioned that if you register here: http://www.cobra-at.com/wps/portal

You can request installation details from there by registering with them. Hope that helps Tom.

I think you could use one of these to solve the problem.

This could look at the signal from the alarm. When it comes on the output could switch on for a short period and then switch off regardless of the input. I think at least.

Hi,
Usually both are momentary contacts, are you sure you've got the 2 pairs( or triples NC, NO, COM) and not an auxilary output?
Cheers,
Gavin :)
