Hi,
The question seems a little strange to me. Are you measuring the voltage on the memory wire coming out of the radio, or the memory wire coming out of the car?

fortfun .. It might me a UK term, but the memory wire is a 12v permanent feed than keeps the memory alive in the radio.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

The feed for the memory of a stereo needs to be a permanent feed.

In true industry standards sometimes the two feeds for the stereo are the wrong way around, which would mean that when you turn off the stereo, you loose your memory.

Check that they are fed correctly and that the "memory" feed isn't driven by the ignition.

It could be that your referring to the REM wire?? the blue one used to switch on amps or remote aerials, this would only be a small reading

all sorted now thanks lads! radio basicly memory i ment is a wire that tells amps when to come on. basicly read nothing when the radios off then 12v when the radios on, there for turning the amps on.. My prob was when the radio was on it still read hardly anything, but what i've done is put a switch now, and turning the amps on myself. JVC for you lol

So you mean the blue 'remote' REM lead.

If this is no good then use the red 'ignition live' not the yellow 'permanent live' (otherwise you'll have trouble starting in the morning lol)
