Hi, trying to start my engine today (have just fitted the turbo, carb etc) and it will not start. Engine was fine before started first time, i have checked the spark, this is fine so im assuming i have a fuel problem, i have changed all the fuel lines. I am getting fuel at the carb tho? could there be a problem with my carb? i have not used it before, is there anything i can check or will i have to strip it?
As iv replaced the fuel lines is there any chance it could have picked up some dirty fuel? is there a quick way to check the fuel in the carb? Cheers

Hi,
If you have got fuel to the carb then the problem could be in the carb...
Are the plugs getting wet?
What have you done to the engine?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

No have taken the plugs out and they are dry, must be a problem in the carb, will take it off tomorrow and check. The engine has been re-built and i have run it in without the turbo. Fitted the turbo, carb etc this weekend and now how this problem, was using a different carb when running it in so must be the problem. Cheers

Hi,
Probably some crud in the float chamber or the needle valve that lets the fuel in.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

To check the fuel in the carb take the dashpot off and look down into the jet, you should be able to see the fuel level a few mm down the hole, If not then the fuel is not getting in or is too low, It helps to shake the car a bit when trying to see the fuel level.
