Hi,
What difference is there going to be between a 37 and a 48 AR exhaust housing with regards to spooling up? I'll be running a standard 1275 engine with 10spi. I'm not going any higher either!
I'm not looking for in depth, highly testicle answers 'cause they won't mean nowt to me *surprised*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

The 37 will spool up quicker.

Hi,
Guess I should have made the question a little more specific!
Would the 37 spool at 2k rpm and the 48 at 3K rpm?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Warwick.

the .48s are also used on landrover wolfs if you needed to find one
if you needed to know the standard actuators open at 1.5bar

i think the point at which it would spool up in the rev range is completly dependent on the engine and how fast it breaths, load on the engine etc

Hi,
I think that may be the problem with my question. Those who are running the 48 will have probably dropped the CR to get more boost in there....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

mine spools up and has half a bar of boost at around 2500-3000rpm. thats with a low CR. my engine loves boost *happy*

I know it's not a T2 but my turbo has a .47 turbine iirc (I should really know). And I get boost (the needle reeds boost on the gauge) from 3k. and Robert gets it a lot wower than this.

I suspect a T2 won't be quite as good as this.

If you have a 1275 driving a T2 with the 0,35 it's about as close to a supercharger as you'll ever get. The 0.47 knocks a very small amount off the boost threshold - like 400rpm or so, but allows another 500 or so rpm at the top end - from my experience at least. *wink*

i dont think mine likes being pushed past 7k rpm. well at least i dont think it does!

it doesnt pull very well from there onwards but has loads lower down. thats why i struggled with a 3.9 and ended up hitting the limiter all the time.

Got some investigating to do this winter though but i would definately say that the .47/.48 (whatever it is!) is not laggy at all and is suited nicely to a 1275ish engine.

I think for me and using higher revs, i could get away with a bigger turbine to be honest. something i might play with if i get time to touch the car this winter!!
