odd one with ebay/paypal

Bought something recently from the US ebay, paid instantly via paypal, but instead of the payment going straight through, it went into a 'pending' status.

I messaged the seller after a week, and he said to pay his 'secondary' paypal account.

I refused, as I am pretty certain that Ill have no comeback with paypal if i pay to any other account than the sellers registered paypal address.

Now were at loggerheads, and not sure what to do?

Anyone had this problem before?

It may have gone to pending if someone has reported a fraudelent activity involving hes account. Not to do with your transaction though.

What status is the payment at now?

Best to ask paypal, cover you're ass and all that

You should be able to cancel your payment, and then pay them by another email address {still through paypal} if they're having trouble with it. I'm pretty sure i had to do this once, though it was a long time ago.

forgot about this one, but the other post reminded me.

I told the seller i was uneasy to pay a (as far as i know random) paypal account, well he said he would send it anyway, and i can pay once it was recieved, so i thought it was def a scam...

anyway 2 weeks later a nice new detacheable volvo towbar turned up!
