Get a dv.
Ive got a JVC Gshock HD one and due to vibrations through the car, it screws up the recording system and im guessing DVD ones do too.

is it more to do with the mount than the camera itself?

Hi,
Hard drives in cars are a funny kind of thing.
I've had one running in the mini for 18months without a problem. Others have got through several in this time, in cars with more compliant suspension....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I've got a Panasonic MiniDV camera, £120 off ebay a while ago (s/h) with two batteries and all the bollocks with it, does a fine job in the DON.

Ive got a Panasonic NV-G21 or something like that.
Bought it off ebay, as a new, but returned item.

So It was a lot cheaper than normal. Works fine for me.

IMO best to get one with a good optical zoom, as digital zooms are crap.
