i have two engines one with a pre-ingaged starter the other doesnt. both have verto clutches but are the flywheels diffrent for each starter?? i am asking as they both look nearly identical and im still not 100% sure. i dont want to remove the fly ect for nothing please help can you use one starter on each fly or not???

one has 105 teeth (not pre ingaged) the other has 130 teeth (pre ingaged) so i geuss i have to swap the flys over :( Drives

has anyone got any hints or tips of ways to get the flywheel off at the moment it is only me and i have tigned up the puller as much as i can on my own (as the engine is out it keeps rocking arround even with a foot on it) would i still be able to get it futher on my own or do i need to get somone to help me? the bolt isnt in there, should i put it back in and try it that way? the only thing with doing that would be it would tighten the bold back up anyway because of the friction... Drives

yes, most pullers will fuck up the flywheel bolt thread in the crank if used without the bolt in place (suitably loosened of course)

It can help to get a good powerfull blow torch on the flywheel. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

i managed to get the fly off the blue engine on my own was a peice of piss, after 35 mins of slowly tightening the puller for the red engine i left it taped it with the breaker bar when i moved passed got passed nd it shot off the side lol so both off now :) cheers for the help Drives
