hi, i know you get a lot of people asking, but was thinking about building an engine/box to this spec. is it any good?, what sort of power could be expected?

low mileage pre mg metro block and pistons, centre strapped crank, swiftune sw5 cam, austin 1300gt head (which has never been skimmed), t3 turbo, rs intercooler.
gearbox will be rebuilt, tranx sc drops and 4 pin diff.

might add some slightly higher lift rockers, got some pressed ones bushed to aprox 1.4 lift in the garage.

will also be running a low boost (whatever is standard for metty turbo).

all i want is something powerful but something that will last. might look at upgrading to a low compression head in the future (probs from benross), but need something decent for now.

hope this isnt rambling on, any comments on the engine planned appreciated.

Ditch that cam and the rockers, use a phase two turbo cam instead.

With the head, you really need to know the chamber size to calculate your C/R to be safe, and if the pennies will stretch I would go for megajolt.

Plus if youre going for low boost, wouldnt bother with SC drops

i already have them. can put a low comp head on then at a later date and up the boost a little

Out of interest, what do you mean by this?

an early metro block, ie, non mg spec. different c/r i believe

ah, right

If youre using low boost and stock internals, maybe the MG Metro camshaft would be a better bet than the Ph2.

any ideas of what power is likely to be?
