Hi all, been nearly 20 years since I last owned a mini! - Been far too long.

So shortly (in the new year) will be looking for any basic spec mini that body isn't shot.

Plan a respray in Orange and a turbo installation for light road and track use.

Any advice gratefully received! Guessing i'll need around 150bhp to get reasonable track times/fun.

Cheers

andy

Thanks for the welcome.........I'll be browsing around now and apologise in advance for any stupid questions!

last time I worked on a mini it was a 1974 and the car was only about 13 years old!*wink**wink* so turbo's are new to me (in mini's) but seems the sensible path to decent power.

Hi,
I've come to the same conclusion.
I'm currently running an N/A 1380, but ditching that for a standard 1275 running about 10 psi, should give the same results but a lot nicer to drive *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Great minds think alike!

I was looking at the 1293 with similar amount of psi maybe a little more.

I did like the lok of Morspeed's 1293 running 17psi & around 170bhp but not sure how long that sort of engine would last! Probably as long as a tuned 1380.......

Hi,
With good oil in it you shouldn't have to many problems.
It gets more expensive as the boost goes up as you need to spend more on the g/box, S/C drops then S/C box!

Gavin :)
