Well as I have an MOT creeping up on me last week i pulled all the front susp apart stuck a new set of cones in, changed all the bushes, reconned the top arms, etc

Also i raised the car a bit as really it was too low and kept grounding.

So with all that done it felt a fair bit better except for a nasty twitch to the left which I put down to the tracking not being totally right as i did it quick with a length of wood back to the rear wheels.

The twitch got worse going to work this morning and a thud/clunk appeared, I jacked the front up and I now have a good 1/4" play in the l/h end of the rack in the in out plain*surprised*

I'm not terribly happy as the rack was a recon 2 years ago that was never quite right and i think always had a tiny bit of up down play.....

So... I dug out the rack that was originally on the car thinking I'll see if i can recon it myself....

some BAC has welded on the bloody balljoint things that screw onto the rack*angry*

Recon racks are shit. The fact that yours lasted 2 years amazes me, 12 months is as long as they usually last.

I only buy the newly manufactured racks now.

I wouldn't have minded if the ends had been tacked to hold them but he's migged like 1/3 or the way round...

I'm going to go with one of the titan rebuild kits, theyre not cheap but apparently they are really nice parts.

well.....

apparently the titan racks are on hold due to problems with inconsitencies between the casings so they are looking into making their own casing.

Also I got the car on a lift so i could get it up to eyelevel for a proper look, rather embarassingly some of the play was coming from the adjustable bottom arm i must have forgotton to tighten.... whoops!!

the rest of the movement, and there is still a fair bit is a mix of vertical movement in the bush on the passenger end of the rack..... and the body flexing......

*angry*
