Myself and i'm sure, a good few people on this forum are a bit partial to collecting stuff that may be of use someday.

I have been thinking after a conversation with a mate, what mini stuff would it be worth buying now and sticking in a dusty corner that is cheap now but is likely to get difficult to get hold of in the future.

Obviously 1275 and turbo stuff along with gearbox bits. But what else do you reckon should be stockpiled?

Hi,
Problem is, as I see it, you're a few years too late!
Most of the stuff is already expensive and in short supply!
Go back 10 years and parts were much more plentiful and cheaper!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I was 9 then and hadn't caught the mini bug.

Edit: Just realised I've become a post whore!

I know I've missed the first ship, but I can only see bits getting more expensive in the future. Gone are the days of the 50 quid metro.:(

IMO, it's mostly hype, they stopped making midgets almost 30 years ago and I've never had problems getting bits for it, and I've never paid over the odds for parts (if you don't believe me ask Roger, when I comes to spending money on cars I am tighter than a very tight thing)

As for price, yes the price of Mini bit is going up but only because people are willing to pay more for Mini bits, if you go to a generic auto jumble (not a mini show) you can pick up an SU carb for a lot less than one at a Mini show or on ebay with the word Mini in the title.
