Hi all. Have a problem in that i cannot seem to control my boost. When i get to around 3000rpm the boost seem to come in and go straight round to 10psi, i then have to back off as otherwise it will keep goin up and i dont wana damage my engine. i have a boost controller fitted an have adjusted it right down as far as it will go. Any ideas what could be causing this? Brought the controller new so im assuming this is ok. Can get pics if needed. Cheers

What actuator have you got fitted?

Does it work. Hook up a foot pump to it some how and see if it moves when you pump.

Good plan Ben.

If it is ok, then just connect it directly without any boost control, and see what happens

Hi guys still seem to be having a problem with this. If i connect it up with no controller wont this give it maximum boost? Or is the actuator preset to a certain psi? Also what controllers do you use? Mine doesnt seem to have much effect in whichever setting so looking for a decent replacement if anyone can recommend any? Cheers

Hi,
The standard metro actuator should be set to 4 psi. If it goes past 10 then check the pre load and test with footpump *wink*

Gavin :)

Have you got the actuator piped in correctly? I would remove the controller and pipe it as standard to see how much boost it is set at first before you try to bleed it off!

yeah, remove some of the variables first. Check actuator first and that it's piped in right (should go to a nipple on the compressor housing) If that's working ok, then check the plumbing of the boost controller. For a quick fix, slap an ebay bleed valve in.

im guessing you have put a 'boost controller' on, and have it completely shut so the acuator never sees boost, so never opens the wastegate to limit it.

when fitting a bleed valve/boost controller, always leave them completely open to begin with.
