Hi guys,
I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me. I have a pretty good grasp of carburator blowthrough principals. But aside from needing better bowl and maybe dashpot sealing, platic floats and needing the rising rate reg, and boost feed to the bowl, what else is actually different between the turbo carbs, and a non turbo Dashpot carb? Metro turbo carbs are too small for my engine. I can get bigger S/U's for next to nothing, and I have a pair of hitachi dashpot carbs too.
What do I need to do to convert one to a blowthrough? I have pretty good engineering resources at my disposal, so machining O ring grooves into the parts is no problem. Thanks in advance,
Bart.

I tried the search function before I posted. The closest thing I found was someone elses post asking more or less the same thing and being told to use the search function.
If I was able to find it, I wouldn't have asked in the fisrt place. If it's so glaringly obvious, you do a search for me and post a link, cos I COULDN"T FIND IT!!!!!!! *frown*

Thank you!
I guess I really wanted to know if there was anything "special" about modifying an SU for blowthrough, compared to an ordinary carburator. It would appear that the basic principals are all much the same.

Cheers.

Hi,
In the Workshop manual it states to pressure test the carb with 15psi of air pressure in it, then dunk it in a bucket of water! If that's any help to you?
Cheers,
Gavin :)
