*oh well*

My mate has decided to attempt a k series conversion in his mini,
(in an effort to keep up with mine *wink*)
for some reason i have agreed to do it,
Looks like quite a bit more work than i had first expected,
(i already new it would be lots)

hes using a flip front which is a help,
has anyone got any advice which might help?

ive found a few diarys of other peoples projects to point me in the right direction.

cheers guys,

O and by the way ... 'run away' isnt good advise, i know what you lot are like lol

Hi,
As you've left your running shoes at home I'd recommend buying the SC build guide, everything you need to know *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)
PS John, that's a fiver you owe me *wink* lol

I'm thinking stu means K series as in Rover 1400/1600/1800 16v rather than BMW K?

For the effort involved fittng the engine wouldn't it be better to fit a larger K series engine? Or has your mate already got the engine etc.?

I've driven a mini with this engine before, nearly bought it, but it was a bit of a shed and wasn't half as quick as I would have hoped from the claimed 110bhp.

Go for it though. Apparently, getting the 1.8 vvc to fit is a piece of piss after doing this conversion (as long as you use the k series subframe).

I Considerd a K-series conversion, ive currently got a Rover BRM 1.8 VVC kicking out about 145BHP standard its pretty nippy it would be unbelievable in a mini!! I think the 1.8 uses the same block as the 1.4.

I know someone with a Rover 100 ascot with a 160bhp 1800 vvc in it. He's kept it looking as standard looking as possible, but its an awesome track weapon!

if your useing a pre made frame, go for it :) If your mate wantsyou to make him a frame, dont. even if he is a mate think of the liabilities should the worst happen... otherwise k-series is tops, so get it done *happy*

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
