Im just setting up my brakes on my standard 8.4 discs.
I brought some MINTEX M1144 PADS from min-its.
Anyway, they come with some kind of thin sticky back pads,
8 all in all.
Should i stick them on, in place of them metal plates you get that Goes on the back of the pads. (WHICH I CANT FIND)
Do i need them plates etc ?
I know it's not rocket science.
First time doing this *wink* so need to make sure i do it right.
Do i need any cooper grease etc...
Any tips and help would be great :)

Cheers ..

These are the sticky back pads.

So i take it they go on the back of the pads ?

I also found them metal backing plate Things.
Should they go on top of the sticking pad ?

I know it's not rocket science.
But you guys might say not to use either.
So just want to make sure.
And do i use any copper past on the backing plate shim thing. ?

Thank's alot.

never seen the stick back pads, but the metal peices go there to stop possible brake squeal.

Shall i just use the metal peices then,
With some copper paste ?
Or maybe the sticky pads could be there to replace the metal things.
Who know's..
Anyone else.

Thanks alot..

Why not contact Mintex? I know it sounds like a pain around the Christmas period, but with brakes I wouldnt start guessing!

how thick are the sticky peices? as they could be there just to hold the metal peices in place for ease of assembly. no brakes i have ever done have the sticky peices and nor do my standard mini brakes so i would say they are just for ease of assembly.

anybody else??

Hi,
I've seen pads with some sort of thickish black coating on the back, but it's stuck on when the pads are made...
As said, find out the easy way ... Finding out the hard way usually requires a large quantity of body panels *surprised*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I dont see how it relly matters tbh! d just wack them on with the pads inbetwen pad and metal and metal and piston.

Its not like your pads going to fall out becasue you did or didnt put a little balck pad in there.

If you ask me all it will do is insulate your pads beter maybe causing pad fade or maybe reducing fluid fade!? who knows

i wouldnt bother with the metal plates if they didnt come with the pads

the sticky thing is there to reduce the squeal, although similar things are used to stop the pads rattling on other cars. I think the idea is to put this on and not use copper grease

Personally i normall just slap on some copper grease and throw them in
