right then, just taken the head of of my 95 cooper, and piston 1 exhaust push rod looks like this.

this is the first mini head i have taken off and was just if this is normal? its been running very well im just stripping it to go turbo.

of all the head ive done (mechanic) ive not seen one with a pushrod bent like this, so just thought i would check.

Nope should be all nice and straight *surprised*
Probably the valve has seized in the guide at some point and that's caused the damage...

Ever adjusted the tappet clearances?

uhmmmmmm thought so, yeh ive adjusted them, properly though. not to tight if thats what your thinking.

im impressed. think might avatar that one *happy*.

id sya the head might have been torqued down at some point with improper rocker slackness, is slackness a word?
