Has anyone got some pics of an MPI rad fitted?

Just trying to get an idea of how tall they are etc.

Cheers
Matt

Hi,
They go from the top of the subframe to about 45mm from the top of the from panel. I'll try to remember to get some pics when I go to the w/shop to do a bit.
There's a cut out in the front panel to clear the fan too.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Ah cheers, Is it critical to move the alernator up or is there room to use a nippon one and move the rad forward a tad?

Some pics would be handy. A picture speaks a thousand words and all that. *wink*

Im desprately struggling to fit an IC and rad in the front, and I don't particularly want to move either into the wings! *oh well*

Hi,
I take it you're putting the IC in front of the rad?
I went all MPi thinking there would be loads of room, but with the rad already there, there's very little room at all :(
The MPi alternator is quite big, I've got a nippon on the shelf, so I could check that for you *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

what about a twin side rad??? i had this thought earlyr today about using two standard or uprated twin core rads from a normal mini and having one bounted behind the wing if there would be room of courseby the square cut out with an eltric fan inbetween, this may keep things a bit cooler?

I may of thought of another way to do it (in my build section). But it would be good to see the rad in place just incase my idea goes tits up!

Cheers for the help guys.

Hi,

I have a front mounted Metro rad on my 1000.
These are pictures I did 6 monthes ago. Today I run a static ignition and it was possible to enter the rad a little more under the hode and install a grille.
The rad is held on the subframe.
Please don't tell me the job isn't perfect, I know. And I really don't care about that.
The system works well with a standart 88C thermostat and stays at 75-80C all the time, between -10 and +40 C ambient temperature.
Hoses highlighted in red are there for an additional electric water pump intended to be used at the track just after run, to cool down the engine without having to keep it running. I bought a PC tuning water pump, they are specified for the hot water.

Hi,
Ok. I actually did what I said I as going to, and in under 2 months! *surprised*
You've basically got 85-90mm between the rad and the block on the MPi. There's 20mm of clearance between the fan and the front panel, possibly the same to the grille.

Cheers,
Gavin :)
