I've never played about with creating DVD's before and I've got 15Gb of video I want to put on DVD. It's lots of smaller MOD files (biggest is just over 1Gb), but no editing is required mainly because I can't be arsed at this stage.

I understand I need some DVD authoring software. For starters Cyberlink power producer came with the camera, I've found Sony's Click to DVD on my work laptop, and I have a 30 day trial version of roxio easy media creator. I've not used any of them yet, what I'm after is a pointer in the right direction of the easiest way to get the vid onto DVD. If there's a better way I don't mind spending on the right software to do the job.

I'm hoping there is a fairly straightforward way to do this as I've not got the time to spend hours messing with complicated software.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,
Try Windows Movie Maker, comes free with XP *wink*
It's in the Start menu > Accessories folder.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I tend to use Adobe Premiere to capture the video from camcorder & edit, then export the edited version to .avi.
There is also a program called Adobe Encore this can be used to create a dvd main page, eg. exactly how a retail dvd loads. Special features, chapters, extras, movie - flash intro etc etc

There are many programs to encode .avi or .mpg files to dvd .vob's & .ifo's...

I personally use a program called "convertXtoDVD" to encode the video files into a burnable dvd format.

and to finish off, Nero to burn the encoded files from the HDD to dvd.

Edit: I forgot to add that there is a freeware software out there called "dvdshrink" that allows you to compress your encoded files so that it can fit onto the 4.7gb disk
