Hello, i just paid for something on ebay by paypal but requested it to be sent to a different address, my account is uk verified but the seller refunded my payment saying my account is unconfirmed. As far as i can tell the only problem is i need to register a credit card to my home address which i have as well as a debit card etc, any ideas? Thanks

I think it's because you want it sent to a different address, as this address would be flagged as unconfirmed by Paypal.

I think verified is to do with bank and confirmed to do with address, you can see them both in your PayPal account, one on "My Account, Overview" and the other on "My Account, Profile". That will tell you what the Seller SHOULD be seeing, but.....
Why do I know this....
Because last week PayPal screwed my account up bigtime - they assigned me another user's address !!!
I got a phone call from a seller saying he had one address for me on his eBay paperwork and a different one on his PayPal invoice so he hadn't a clue where to send the item !!!
It turns out the second person now has all my eBay details !!!
So much for PayPal being secure...

I had to get my paypal account verified a few months ago. Untill I did it no payments could be made to or received.

I think the verification has more to do with paypal having a direct debit set up to your account?

If you want an item sent to a different address to that at which your card is registered, paypal will not give the seller protection against fraud and they flag it up as an unconfirmed address.

ive refused to send stuff to address that differs from what they have registered on paypal, otherwise youre not covered.
