Im going to buy an steel flywheel from the likes of minispares, would it be worthwhile to buy a steel backplate, or are these ott? Its for fast / road use

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if you want the engine to spin up fast
get the minispares north ultralight steel flywheel and back plate and AP race plate and grey cover


i use a super light backplate, vegard special and a carl austin lightend cast flywheel

but my budget was tight at the time and these gents helped me out

i use the ultra light complete setup from minispares

so far been far better than the previous companys who i wont mention

Just to add, Benross` viking backplate is far lighter than the Minispares one *wink*

Of course, I brought it from Norway to England by plane.

Yes, I think Petter J has got a couple of 598 backplates left. I guess you can hace one for a tenner or something. He's going to the UK in a few weeks to get a certain engine from som Webster-dude :) I guess he can bring a backplate.

Remember, it does need balancing.

Fuck me, this is bringing coal to Newcastle :)
