Question for my friend who hasnt got internet.

Does anyone possibly know why his engine could be firing out oil from the breather on the rocker? and im not talking jusdt a little bit, its a fair amount its blowing out.

Any suggestions to what could be causing it?

I was thinking that, but the temp and pressure remains the same, no real movement. thats what puzzled me, plus it still goes like sh*t.

Hi,
Blocked breathers on the timing cover / transfer case.
The breather in the Rocker cover cap is supposed to draw air in.
The others should be connected to a vacuum.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Both times I took my ring lands out that was the symptoms, not much at idle, gets worse as the revs go up and will only blow smoke out of the exhaust after a long period of idle, otherwise not a great deal out of the exhaust.. I would do a compression check as rings are the most likely suspect....

I had the same and I thought my rings were shot for ages. But it turned out that my head gasket had blown where it wasn't torqued up enough.

Stupid cheapo torque wrench!

Pull the head and inspect. Check the gasket. If that looks okay, you know that it will most probably be the rings.

just do a pressure test alot easier.

if all pressures seem fine drop a little bit of oil down the plug hole and redo the test. should see some differences and that would point to rings. 30 mins work and its diagnosed. if its neither of these, you havent wasted time, effort and money on a new gasket if its neither HG or rings.

then i would check your breather system for a blockage.

if there is not blockage THEN i would start to strip it down. because it could still be rings or HG

still ckeck all breathers first and remove any breather top cap filters too.

if it still does it then you are looking at the above, which is more likly but still do the check any way.
