thought it might be fun to see what the ideas are on this ,looking at it crudely i think its going to be around 140 bhp n/a ,so at 30psi ,id say at 80% to 120 % increase per bar (15psi) its in the range of 364 to 476 , so im guessing 410 bhp . The whisperers on Sunday were quoting 9000 rpm and 30 psi, so I reckon on 340hp.

asuming 30psi, 9k and if thre turbo is as big as i recon it is itll show 380hp@very near if not on the red line and peak torque about 1.5krpm lower.

I voted on the safe side, lol, 300, as we know what happened the last time some one mentioned 300bhp and clutches Edited by Sprocket on 30th Jan, 2008. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

oooh - interesting topic, hopefully it'll do as its meant to. It has been designed with a specific number in mind - I'm not voting yet lol. One things for sure torque management will be crucial for this drag racing application. I fully expect to torque limit the car in the first 2.5 gears only allowing full bifftas in mid third and 4th - to maximise traction and stop me crapping myself! If Carling made Mini engines

my guess is based on the engine makign jsut over 200ft'lb of torque, and making that figure very close to the red line. dont think 200ft'lb is that out of the question for a 1.3 litre engine runnign 2 bar of boost! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

personally I think it'll make peak torque high mid range rather than at the top end - we'll see!

Im recon John is going for the next mile stone of 300 nanas, but I think he'll be 10 nanas short due to the colour of the block!

Well i am going to put my guess in having followed the project since its early steps. I am going for 315 bananas and 212 curly whirlys. Its all mightily impressive and whatever it pushes its the engineering boundaries of the a series. |
