Hi, Does the White wire with the red stripe have power on it when you try to crank it over? It will be located on the solenoid, either on the wing or the starter itself
Cheers, Gavin :) Well when i turn it over, all i hear is a click coming from the solinoid. I just noticed that when i turn the ignition on, the back and reverse lights come on .
errrrrrr what could it be ?? pleaseeeeeeeee :) everything seems ok on the electric side.. ? Cheers lads. Edited by Markie_D on 2nd Feb, 2008. Shit Happen's |

I think i may know the problem but it involves a bit of testing to find the fault.

I think i may know the problem but it involves a bit of testing to find the fault. Put a multimeter to the live on the solenoid, and check how much power is going to it. get someone to turn the key and check the power coming out of the solenoid if there is power then follow the lead to the starter, check that for power. One trick to try, short out the solenoid, get a spanner or something and connect the two lives together, then providing everything after the soleniod is fine it should turn over and start. I had the same problem when i bought my current clubby estate with the original engine that was in it. Doesnt take long, but does sound like soleniod too me. hope this helps Yep a feecked solenoid. good job i had a spare one. :) So turns over now, but havn't started it yet. Because i was told i have to set it up at top dead centre for the egnition timing before i start it up proper ? can someone give us little info please/ Thanks alot. Shit Happen's |
