nr coventry

how do chaps, i've got a decent sized home compressor 12 or q4 cfm i think, 150ltr tank & i have a blast gun & some grit, any advice on methods/technique i have a gate & my mini wheels to do, i'm makin a basic blast box out of a couple of pallets & some spare lexan

Get some proper grit from Screwfix. Normal sand is rarely dry enough or hard enough for the job.

Get yourself well covered as the grit gets everywhere.

got my grit some 60/80 stuff, i honly had a ltr of dry playpit sand left so mixed it in with my grit, it cant be seen now *surprised*)

dont use sand!!! isnt it bad for your health when its ground up?

indeed silicosis.. don't use sand. but any dust is bad.

proper grit ( aluminium oxide or something) works faster of tough stuff.

use proper protection filter mask

for engine parts and such try baking soda. unlike most other stuff ( grit, glass beads the lot) you can make that dissapear.

dont worry chaps it is aluminium oxide grit i have, just a 1ltr pot ofd sand mixed in as its the only dry sand i have, just to get rid of it really, i've had a little play with my gear & i think i need a smaller nozzle lol

use kiln dried paving sand, not as good as the oxide ...etc but........

cheap as chips, use a good mask *wink*
