My Spec. B Legacy had a few bits missing when I bought it (hence it was so cheap), so yesterday I popped to the local Subaru dealer to price up the missing bits.

So, how much for

1) A key?
2) A gear knob?
3) A handbook?

I shelled out for the key and handbook, but you could get a Subaru supplied Prodrive knob significantly cheaper than the standard one.

oooo sexy

£175 for the lot is very close to what i paid, but remember I bought the Prodrive knob.

key £111
Original knob £105
Prodrive knob £50
Handbook £10

The keys are mad. They get imported as blank Japanese spec keys with two buttons. You then have to have it cut and converted to a single button key. Then you need to book your car in to have the key programmed.

Strange as it may seem I like my 'propper' cars to be left standard. Propper cars cost real money and any modifications tend to kill re-sale value. Hence why I wanted the standard knob.

But bollocks was I paying the £105, the Prodrive knob is an genuine accesory and should add a couple of bhp I'd have thought!

Problem now is, that in preparation for the new knob I took the on that is on off, it was really bodged on so now won't go back on again, arse.
