Stupid question but are additional non-standard cooling holes & vents allowed? I can't see anything in the blue book about them.

Cheers

Rob

That's what I was thinking, only problem with drilling holes is that it's very hard to un-drill them if the scrutineers object!

You are allowed to modify the body for induction systems, so any holes for vents and the like will be fine.

It does actually say something about not drilling holes in bodywork other than for passing cables etc through.

But extra cooling holes (in the front panel I assume) is perfectly acceptable.

Just look at the size of the hole for my intercooler.

Ah, but the intercooler is infront of the centre line of the wheel hubs so anything goes in mod prod anyway, so long as the silhouette of the car remains.

Just do it, it will be fine.

Hi,
If I remember right doesn't all the coolant pipe work have to be covered?
So that's no holes in the bonnet?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

lol at the duck tape comment

im really suprised how slack the scruteneering in rallying is! i dont know if its just cos they reconise my car from previous events (previous owners) but if theres a little hole in the bulk head there like...well thats gotta be covered, if you ask for a sujestion how you get "ducktape" or "silicone sealer"
where i got my mechanicle clutch kit in i had a hole from where the old master Cyl. was...i used a bit of ally and silicone sealered it in place :S they accepted it...no comment at all

in the end it really is who scruteneers the vehicle, you get some mardie people. Different people pick up on different things, tow stickers or somthing walk thru the padock and url probably see about 5 cars without them anyway
