i always thought that they just went out of the compressor housing into the controller and the out of the controller into the actuator....not sure now ive seen the T-peice though.

sure someone will help properly.

I think the t piece goes inline with the actuator, then off the t into the inlet of the mbc, think the outlet goes to atmosphere, believe the idea is it will run the boost that the actuator is set untill the boost overcome the spring pressure in mbc (ajustable)
Sound right?

on these things, the "t-piece" bit goes between the turbo and actuator, arrow pointing towards the actuator. the other nipple whih isnt screwed into the t-piece gets plumbed to the bottom barb on the "boost controller" bit. the top barb is left open to atmosphere.

dont know if thats how there supposed to be plumbed in but thats how i always do them and they always work :)

and shane your kinda right, on these things the ball and spring is in the "t-piece" and the screwy bit act as a normal bleed screw. there an odd setup but they do work.

i had to remove the ball and spring from the T peice so that i could get boost in second gear.

Sorry to dig this up again, but I ordered one of these and now am also confused, if there is a spring internally in the t peice, at what pressure does it open? Read a little more on these and am now confused to fu*k

Right, ive been trying to get my headround this this eve, but to joy. with the pressure connected to the actuator alone it is fully open at 8psi, once the t piece is installed (as in the pic) and the anodised outlet blocked the actuator wont open below 12psi, this is a sod for me as I was planning to run 6psi on the actuator and use the solenoid and mbc to bleed off to 12 via the MJ. Is how I have it piped correctly? and how can I get the actuator to open at 6 psi?
Cheers

Hi,
I'd try it this way;
Ditch that tee piece, fit a normal tee in the same place.
Fit the sol between the tee and the red bit with the adjusting knob on.

With the sol closed you should get the actuator opening around 6 psi, you should test this fitted to the car and adjust the actuator arm to get it right.
Then with the sol open you should be able to adjust the boost with the knob on top of the valve *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

This has reeealy confused me, so the T goes in between the actuator and what? (where does the actuator pipe go to if i didnt have one of these fitted, isent it to the clock to show what psi its running? )

and then the other bit on the T goes to the bottom connector on the adjuster and the top to atmosphere.

Is this an internal bleed valve them or does it have to stay in the engine bay?

Thanks

It really does not matter whether the solenoid is before or after the boost controller. As already been said, set the minimum boost by the pre load on the actuator -it wont go below the level provided by the spring in the actuator -and then set the higher boost level by experimenting with the amount of bleed you set.The picture you show has it set up OK.Mini mon the tee goes in the line from the compressor housing to the actuator.I wouild connect the boost guage to a tapping in the manifold so that you are actually measuring manifold pressure, which may not be the same as the pressure at the compressor housing.Shane has already said most of this above.
