so far my thoughts are as follows.

Benross head
Std turbo pistons flushed with block face
balanced bottom end
light flywheel
possibly a weber 45 dcoe
276 or 286 cam
1.5:1 roller tip rockers
10.5:1 compression ratio
Oh yes, and megajolt.

I cant decide on whether to stick with the 3.4 final drive or go for a 3.2

How does this sound as a starting point? I'm looking for about 90 or more banannas. My main areas of headache are cam choise and final drive.

Hi,
I wouldn't bother with a 45 on anything less than a 1380 and then only if you really want to.
286 cam will loose bottom end torque and mpg, you can pull the torque up with MJ. Rocker ratio will depend on cam choice.
I'm running a 2.9 FD on my 1380, pulls well doesn't rev its nuts off on the motorway :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I still think that you should go for a turbo IMHO.

With that sort of spec you will struggle to make 90bhp. A standard intercooled turbo will easily make 110bhp.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Don't forget how much extra torque you get with a turbo - that makes a huge difference in road-driving.

I wish i had gone turbo with mine before i chucked loads of cash in to a 1380 N/A and i would really have to start afresh to go with a turbo now and i can't aford it again. Go turbo, nothing else like it to drive, even a std metro turbo lump in there. SOOOO much cheaper as well if you don't go crazy on spec.
