I did a search but didn't find quite what I was looking for. I would like some 1.3 roller tiped rockers please but alas no one seems to be selling them (except Minisport), I can only find £300+ full roller rockers or roller tipped 1.5s.

Is everyone happy with their sintered/pressed steel ones? It's just mine are worn on the tips and I would resent spending over £100 on new sintered ones when it used to be £160 for roller tipped.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

some one must have a set of pressed steel 1.3 ones
these are stronger than most peeps give them credit for

cheap as chips and gets the job done place an add on the wanted section

i would only use 1.3 ratio with a phase 2 cam

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I will probably use my stock sintered ones (I know they're only 1.21:1) but as I say they are worn on the tips and when textbook clearances are used they are noisy! I just don't want to spend £££ on full rollers, I could use 1.5s but some peeps report cam wear when using them. I think I am just shocked that you can't buy roller tipped 1.3s anymore! Anyway thanks for the imput guys, I have some thinking to do.

Hi,
I guess it's due to the current tread to fit 1.5s to almost everything these days! *surprised*
I got 1.3 roller tips from Mini Sport years ago, they're not ace but they're still working....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Your right that's what it is. Apparently the "90hp" kit you can get for MPi minis caused the head gasket to fail because the rocker posts compressed and gave a bit taking the tension off the head studs. Might have a look at the Minisport ones then!

Hi,
Ali posts maybe junk, I don't know, but they've lasted 10 years on a 1380 with a 285 cam :)
These are the ones
The head lifting could be down to using 1.5 rockers rather then the post material?
I've not had to change the head gasket....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I think MED do 1.5s. Everyone does 1.3 full rollers or just the 1.5 in roller tip except Minisport. Your right Gav it is the 1.5s that have the problems with head gaskets, maybe the 1.3s survive OK. I guess there isn't a market for 1.3s anymore.

I seem to remember that Adrian Dodd wrote something about that once. He also blamed the 1.5 rockers and swapped them for 1.3...

I've had a turbo engine with a ph2 and std rockers and now this with the 1.5's and it idles perfectly each time.

Wear is another thing as i dont do massive mileage.

Its smooth all the way up, little lag and not excessively peaky for a turbo with power all the way to a 7500 redline.

If i like it can slip it in 2 or 3rd or even 4th and it will pull along on idle.

I have yet to see anything that would warrant changing them to 1.3's

*smiley*

all my opinion though, and it is limited *smiley*
