Mine is on the clutch housing, and no problems yet. The TT2 is mounted on the brace bar and the fiesta leads fit perfectly.

I wouldn't! Mine is on an ally bracket with rubber mounts and in use since 1992 which reminds me about time i bought a spare!

Thanks, I havent realy anywhere else to put it without having very long leads (not sure if that would be a prob but would of thaught the shorter the better)

Nick , any reason why i shouldnt put it there or just personal preference.

Hi,
I can't imagine it being a problem.
The coil pack has to be more robust than an oil filled coil and they've always been mounted on the engine.
My engine shakes like a wacker plate when idling, no problems in 3 years :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I got the fiesta lead set from halfords which are far to long, so i mounted the coil pack, edis etc all inside the car behind the dash (altho i have no dash) makes the engine bay nice and tidy :)

Rick I too would avoid engine mounting and I too use zetec leads. Putting a coil on an engine I would think subjects it to too much vibration. Yes it is where the coil sits on a 998 std Min but then coils don't last long on Minis at the best of times. Why not on one of the bracing bars if you have no inner wings?

Hi,
Thinking about it these coil packs are mounted on Fiesta pushrod engines and on the head on my 1.4 CVH escort *blush* so if it's good enough for Ford?
Cheers,
Gavin :)
