rite well my engine is all in and running now, got a few little bits to sort out and tidy up, it's a 1293 with phase 2 cam running standard 4psi boost now i cant afford a rolling road tune at the mo so want to run it in and make sure everything is ok. what would be the best timing to run for this to be safe? not too worried bout economy jus performance and reliability.??

cheers tim8-)

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

6 DBTDC, vac disconected to the distrib.... and give it some beans
it will be fine on that boost if the mixtures right and on the timing figure above

please read this link carefully ................. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Steve, that's an interesting page there.
Is it true though?
As the writer says,it goes against the grain so much I find it difficult to believe, though it makes sense mechanically.

Sorry O/T

I'm going to try it. :)
This is going to sound really dim. You build an engine for race/track use. You fire it up to check for leaks etc. How do you do the run in sequence prior to rolling road? The engine has to be under load, driving on the road is out of the question.
I gather you run it in at the rolling road?

Edit; Theres also a very similar method in those Speed pro books. :)
