I would like to go about 1/2 an inch lower, but then hit problems of the wheel hitting the arches over certain bumps.

fit a rear arb, then you can go lower without going superstiff dampers…

Cut the metal away from under the arches, stiffen the shocks, and prepare for a bumpy ride!!! |

That looks low enough, maybe too low at the back. If it was lower I think it would look wrong.

there is petty much no rear suspension. I have learned to brace myself for spinal impact for certain bumps near home. It isn't helped by the cobra monaco seats eigher.

I wonder if the standard arhes are my enemy, this photo shows more clearly how much the wheels protrude from the arch.

Thats helpfull, I think I will stiffen the shocks a bit, not use full lock and lower it a fraction. On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:

I have to say I really like the look of this car. I'd put a standard number plate lamp on and bin the fog light for one fitted in the rear lights, but otherwise perfect.

I did have it softer but it bottomed out. so it is the minimum I can get away with. snap! when i turned my rear shocks soft, and put some weight in the boot it bounced all over the place! its solid as a rock at the moment though i hate it when i haven't braced for bumps! i have 4.5 cooper 12's on the front of my mini and 6x12" minilights on the back the front is so low i cant get more than 1/2 lock before it scrubs :) love it but the back is pritty high, great for traction not so good on the twistys when its damp, i plan to have my project mini sitting like that low with the ashes but on 10's so i may get away with it, imo lower it more XD and invest in some rivets and a rivit gun Drives

I'd raise the front up a bit and get some yokahama A048's on there, I haven't found the limits of mine yet on a dry public road.
