Basically went to fit my avonbar braided turbo oil feed tonight.

However, all the parts that came with it, they dont seem to want to screw all the way into the blue t-piece? They screw a few threads in then stop, this is with my hand btw.

Is this normal or should they screw all the way in?

cheers

james.

Em, i suppose they are a bit at the end. Its the two blue threaded bits from avonbar with the blue t-piece.

Hi,
They are tapered so I would say they're ok.
I've not fitted one of these kits, so I'm only giving an opinion :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Sounds like the nipple is BSP and the T piece is NPT.

This is totally normal. All fitting of this nature only go a few turns.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I had just had a delightful experience with this piece earlier today. Screwed the two nipples in a few months ago and its been sat in the block since then, came to take it out today to measure for a third nip for pressure gauge and this happened.

I remember greasing the threads before putting it together, should I have used something special to prevent it locking or has the grease itself fubared it? Only had a diddy 1/4" drive ratchet on it, not overly impressed for what it cost. *oh well*

Not if the threads match. It should easily go two thirds of the way into a parallel fitting as the taper fitting is actually smaller than the equivalent parallel at the start.
