Hello there, today i'm going to pick up this engine, http://www.kapaza.be/Auto_onderdelen/Mini/...urbo_motor.html

the code on the head says 12H...

How can i know if the block and the transmission are also original from this turbo engine?

Where can i buy original turbo pistons?

thanks a lot

Piston's you get from all the normal minipart suplieres.

To know what is original turbo and not is to open the engine. I learned a lot when i dismanteld mine engine.

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

Hi,
The block on the turbo engine is no different to any other A+ block.
The nose bearing on the input gear is bigger on the turbo gearbox, but you won't know until you strip it down.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

When you say 12H are you talking about the engine number on the plate just behind the alternator or in the head casting?? If its the engine number then probably not. If the casting then maybe.. No worry, it seems to have all the bits and as already noted the block/gearbox are basically the same except for that nose bearing and pistons ..

The turbo head is different though One quick check is to look at the head and see if there is a "T" stamped near the thermostat housing. Next check is if the exhaust valves have thicker stems, these were only on turbo heads.
