surrey / ewell area.

Hi all is there anyway i can get the powerband of my engine to come down the rev range . at mo im running 1340 vmax supercharger 1.5 rockers ph2 cam etc. had it on rr and max power was at 6500 rpm which is good for track but not street was wondering if changes dizzy to aldon yellow would help as maybe standard dizzy not advancing enough? any help or suggestions would be great thanks .*happy*

To me powerband is defined by the camshaft and the cam lift (rockers).

std 998 A+, g295, MD266, RHF4, 109hp @0.8bar/5400rpm

Hi,
It's not power you should be looking at it's torque.
You want as much as you can spread out as far as possible across the rev range.
Compression ratio and cam are the main 2 things that will affect this.
Advancing the ignition would help it come on boost earlier, but I doubt you'd get a dizzy to do it.
The mapped ignition I put on my 1380 when mapped properly produced a lot more low end torque.

ok,

bat is assuming you are on a turbo with the reference to coming on boost,

with megajolt (or any other 3d mapable ignition) you will be able to run much more part throttle advance lower in the rev range but full throttle advance will be similar.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

as bat says CR ratio
change the cam for something milder
may be a N/A mg cam
or kent 266
swift tune sw5 ?
look at the pully sizing so the power band comes in sooner
togeather with mapped ignition
i would talk to stuart at Vmax
