Ok,

Don't think these are going to be much use but here they are anyway.... cortosy of Alan Stanniforth

(^ is raised to the power of)

Q= 10"^4" x T"^2" x K"^2" x d"^4"
------------------------------------
R "^2" x L
Where,

d= bar diameter in inches
R= effective arm length
L= half the length of the roll bar
S= length of lever arm
Q= stiffness in Lb/ins per degree

for a hollow bar I think you can substitute d"^4" for (D"^4" - d"^4") where D is the outer bar diameter and d the inner bore.

for reference, the minispares adjustable race bar is 3/4" (19mm) solid and the Kad one 5/8" solid (15.8mm)

I have to say, gut feeling, I think 1" hollow tube will be a good starting point considering your car will be pretty light.

Also these threads below are worth a read if you havent seen them already.

jims can be seen in these pics,

basicaly it is an anti roll bar mounted in the boot, miglias seem to have them pivoting on the wheel arches and attaching to the radius through a hole in the floor.

Ah i see. The only thing i could think of was a rear strut brace that would go in the boot. Never seen that before!!

I've got a standard 14mm steel one (bar, not tube) and it works a treat, It goes behind the RSF though. Really good mod for getting it to "go right"

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

Just found this formula, but im abit lost as to where the T and K come from?

And then in the key it has an S in there which isn't used in the formula?

Can you shed some light for me please Mini13?

Also is the substituting d^4 for D^4 - d^4 just a guess or is it known?

One last thing, is the " just saying that all measurments need to be in Inch?

Just been working through this the best i can, and im wondering if you could explain R and S to me please?

Im presuming that R is the length of the Blade from the link rod to the pivot point of the ARB?

As for S (even though its not in the formula *oh well*) is that the length of the radius arm from its pivot to the link rod? or is it the same as R?

Or am i missing the point completely?

I quite fancy having a go at building one as well - was looking at the Kad ones originally.
