Is there any cheap, or logical way to reduce the moisture in the garage, apart from a de-humidifier (sp)

The garage backs directly onto the house and is dry during the summer but seem to get a bit damp in the winter, I am paranoid about the mini going rusty again.

I'm reluctant to try to loose all gaps in doors ect for when the car is put away wet.

Thoughts please.

Double garage of rendered concrete block, concrete floor, felt roof. with a pair of metal doors.

On chalk ground, so no issues of drainage.

sorry the only picture that shows it cleary was me messing about with an engine!

Hi,
The only thing I can think of is changes in temp causing condensation. If that's the case you'll need to start insulating, possibly with the roof first...
I'm no building expert though!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

That was my thoughts exactly. I thought mabie the front doors would have been a good place to start though.

Hi,
Metal will be a condensation creator. Making an up and over door heavier is an easy way to get a sore head!
I've got a metal door on my 2 garages but don't get a cond. problem.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

my damp garage killed two of my minis, wish i had kept them outside through the winter. Its made them rust worse than if they were outside because it was warm too.

You need air to flow through to stop the condensation dont fill the gaps.

ventilation is what you need - a good bit of airflow through the space

If its adjoined to the house...why not fire a couple of radiators in there.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Thanks. I think I will try a bit more ventilation, failing that insulation.

I would never get allowed to run a radiator through to the garage.

Benross, It had a new roof last year. We recently cut a drainage channel beneath the front doors to make sure it doesn't fill up
