Problem is plugs are wet and black! As bad as u go down the road and you lose a clinder. On the carb i have which is a metro turbo carb, i think its hif44 new off avonbar anyway. Wondering is it screw in or screw out on the mixture screw to make it less rich?

i was going to get this colour tune from halfords anyone used this and thoughts on plugs would be good. cheers

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

screw it in you let more fuel in .... out! less fuel......

good start champion N9YC grade or the eqivelent in other makes
you could drop one grad down cooler i run two grades cooler N7YC with no plug fouling issues

if you are cammed up over the standard turbo cam a colour tune wont work it will always show rich
best to use a Co metre at your local friendley MOT centre aim for 6% .... in old money i think... its 12.5 to 1

correct me if iam wrong gents

Hi,
If it's only just started doing this, as in it ran perfectly last week, then you may have a problem with the choke seals inside the carb.
Also check the fuel pressure.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Just to clarify... I dont know if champions work the same way, but with NGK, a 7 plug is cooler than a 6 plug. (ie a BCPR7ES is cooler than a BCPR6ES)

Yes, the numbers run in opposite directions between champion and NGK for the Mini plugs.
Look down the left hand column of this table for the champion N series and you will see
